Who is buying
Among Princeton's 18,441 residents in the Census survey, health care is the largest employer of residents, with 1,546 people (16.3%), ahead of retail trade at 1,051 (11.1%), finance and insurance at 872 (9.2%), accommodation and food services at 824 (8.7%), professional, scientific and technical services at 796 (8.4%) and construction at 701 (7.4%). Construction employs a meaningful share of residents, so a market of home builders and repairers is part of the local picture.
New retail is on the way. Princeton Town Center will be anchored by Kroger Marketplace, Home Depot and Hobby Lobby, according to the Princeton Herald in July 2026, with other announced tenants including TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, PetSmart, Texas Health Resources and Total Care Urgent Care. Homebuilding supplies steady demand. Eastridge alone covers 547 acres and about 2,400 homesites, and Collin County, which holds all of Princeton's residents, has 770 real estate agents and brokers (up 52.8%), 124 roofing contractors (up 42.5%) and 780 dentists. Those are county figures, but they show that a new-home market has attracted firms across the region.
