Move-in and lease pages
With 63.1% of households renting, we write pages for movers, cleaners and furniture sellers that say what is included and how quickly you can arrive. Timing follows the start of each university term.

Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsThe town calls itself the oldest in Texas, and the numbers say its customers are among the youngest. Median age is 24.4, compared with 35.2 in our typical Texas city, and 63.1% of households rent. Red brick from 1917 still paves downtown, but the people reading a phone on that brick are often students at Stephen F. Austin State University, which Wikipedia lists at 10,472 students in fall 2024. Heritage is the postcard; the search traffic is something different.
GetPhound works through the listings first: your Google Business Profile and Maps pin, then directory entries that disagree with each other. After that we add a page for each service and each side of town you reach, from the brick streets to Millard's Crossing, answer reviews and send a Search Console summary once a month. Nothing is due at the start, and you decide each month whether to continue.

City Search Competition Index
18.2/ 100
Rank 187 of 203 in Texas
From the Census ACS 2018-2022, 2023 population estimates and County Business Patterns 2022. Each bar compares Nacogdoches with the other 202 Texas cities in this set, not with the country. How the score is built: methodology. Updated October 2026.
The payroll
The 2017 city financial report lists Stephen F. Austin State University at 1,659 employees, Pilgrim's Pride at 1,657, Nacogdoches ISD at 972 and the Nacogdoches County Hospital District at 874. That list is several years old, so quote it with the year. The poultry complex sits at 928 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and the university's fall 2025 enrollment rose 7%, so both payrolls shape which hours and which services people search for.
The Census industry table adds detail on residents. Retail trade counts 2,476 workers (16.9%), education 2,427 (16.6%), accommodation and food services 1,826 (12.5%), health care and social assistance 1,755 (12%), manufacturing 1,416 (9.7%) and other services 804 (5.5%). Nearly a third of working residents therefore sit in retail or classrooms, which reward pages that explain a purchase in a sentence or two.
Nacogdoches Medical Center and the county hospital district give the city a medical layer, and Pilgrim's Pride adds a plant workforce. Businesses that serve those crews, such as uniform sellers, diners and repair shops, should describe the service, hours and route without implying that an employer recommends them. The university's founding in 1923 on land from the Rusk homestead is part of the heritage story that tourist copy repeats; local pages should lead with what you actually sell.
What people do for work
The work people do affects when they search and how much they can spend. Here are the six industries that employ the most Nacogdoches residents, based on the American Community Survey.
| Industry | Employed residents | Share of employed |
|---|---|---|
| Retail trade | 2,476 | 16.9% |
| Education | 2,427 | 16.6% |
| Accommodation and food services | 1,826 | 12.5% |
| Health care and social assistance | 1,755 | 12% |
| Manufacturing | 1,416 | 9.7% |
| Other services (repair, personal care, nonprofits) | 804 | 5.5% |
From the Census ACS 5-year estimates (2018-2022), employed civilians 16 and older. A resident may work outside the city, so this is about people who live here.
Who else is in the results
Nacogdoches is part of Nacogdoches County, so these rows cover the whole county, which is the smallest unit the Census publishes. The last column compares each business type with the typical U.S. county; over 1.0x is more crowded.
| Business type | Count in Nacogdoches County | Per 10,000 people | Compared with a typical U.S. county |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physicians offices | 65 | 9.9 | 2.47x |
| Full-service restaurants | 33 | 5 | 0.75x |
| Insurance agencies and brokerages | 26 | 4 | 1.11x |
| Law offices | 24 | 3.7 | 1.28x |

Local landmarks
Directions here tend to start with a heritage site, a campus or a highway. The nine places below come out of our Nacogdoches County research. Use one on a page only when your business honestly serves that crowd.
| Part of town | Why it matters in search |
|---|---|
| Brick streets | The 1917 red brick around the square gives shops and cafes a visual landmark, and the Main Street program since 1998 gives them a community to join. |
| Charles Bright Visitor Center | Heritage travelers start here, so nearby restaurants and galleries can publish hours and parking notes written for out-of-town readers. |
| Old Stone Fort Museum | The 1936 rebuild at 1808 Alumni Drive sits on campus, which makes it a reference point for lodging and food in both audiences' searches. |
| Millard's Crossing | A 37-acre living history village at 6020 North Street that draws families, useful for fuel stops and diners on that side of town. |
| Pineywoods Native Plant Center | The 42-acre garden at the northern edge of campus attracts garden shoppers, so nurseries can describe themselves as close by. |
| El Camino Real | The old royal road ended here and its route runs near Main Street and State Highway 21, a phrase for shops with a historical story. |
| Eastex Freeway | The main north-south road, soon Interstate 69, puts auto, fast food and lodging businesses in front of travelers if they say their exit. |
| Nacogdoches Medical Center | At 4920 NE Stallings Drive, the hospital gives clinics, labs and pharmacies nearby a landmark for map pins and directions. |
| Texas Blueberry Festival | Held on the second Saturday in June, it gives food, craft and parking listings a short, predictable window for posts. |
Names come from public city, county and regional sources. Boundaries are informal, and searchers use whatever local name they know.
Who is searching
The rental market dominates. Renters hold 63.1% of households against 38% in the typical city, and median rent is $873 compared with $1,313. Only 20% of residents are under 18 (typical: 25.9%) and 12% are 65 or older, so the audience is overwhelmingly adults starting out, many of them on a lease for a school year. Landlords, movers, furniture sellers and repair crews should write for people who have never hired a local business before.
Incomes are low on paper. Incomes are low on paper: $37,612 for the median household, against $76,686 in the typical city, with 30.9% of residents below the poverty line (typical: 10.8%) and unemployment at 8.2%. Student households probably account for part of that gap, though that is our reading, not a counted fact. A bachelor's degree is held by 27.9% of adults, against 31.3%. Median home value is $161,000. Pages should state what a visit costs in effort, not just in dollars.
Habits favor nearby choices. Only 5.5% of workers stay home (typical: 9.5%) and 8.4% travel 45 minutes or more, against 15.6%. The population stood at 32,148 in the ACS count and 32,156 in the 2023 estimate, growth of 0.1%, so the market refreshes through the school calendar, not through new subdivisions. Spanish is spoken at home by 12.5% of residents and 6.3% were born abroad, below the typical 17.9% and 12%.
County counts show a medical crowd. Nacogdoches County has 65 physicians' offices, 2.47 times the typical density and down 18.7%, plus 33 full-service restaurants (up 10%), 26 insurance agencies (1.11 times typical) and 24 law offices (1.28 times). These describe the county as a whole. For clinics, a separate page for each service and a steady stream of answered reviews matter more than a single homepage.
The plan
Student calendar timing
With 63.1% of households renting, we write pages for movers, cleaners and furniture sellers that say what is included and how quickly you can arrive. Timing follows the start of each university term.
Old Stone Fort and downtown
Restaurants, galleries and lodging near the Charles Bright Visitor Center and the Old Stone Fort Museum get complete profiles with accurate hours, parking notes and photos of the brick streets.
Distinct, not templated
Our RankGuarantee™ method builds a separate page for each service in each part of town you reach, using street names and photos from real jobs, so a page for North Street near Millard's Crossing reads differently from one for the campus.
65 physicians' offices
In Nacogdoches County, where 65 physicians' offices compete, each office needs pages by specialty, accepted ways to schedule and photos of the entrance. Reviews are answered promptly so that each listing stands apart.
Texas Blueberry Festival
Shops and cafes near the Texas Blueberry Festival can schedule Google Business Profile posts before the second Saturday in June, with extended hours and a note about parking.
Short pages, visible price cues
With a median income of $37,612, we keep copy short, show the phone number first and describe what a visit includes, so a student or a plant worker can decide without scrolling. Estimates, payment choices and the service area sit near the top of each page, ahead of any history of the firm.
The ideas below follow the town's numbers and places, from the brick streets to the Eastex Freeway. We spend the first month repairing listings and the pages people reach first, and widen the work by service and by area after that.

There is no setup fee, and a managed website comes with Gold and Platinum. What each plan includes is listed higher on this page, and the pricing page has the full breakdown.
Some edits show quickly, such as a corrected pin or hours, while new pages need weeks. A student-driven business follows the Stephen F. Austin State University calendar, so work done before a term helps more than work started in the middle of it. The monthly report lists which pages drew calls.
Yes. Visitors and students on the brick streets check hours, parking and photos on a phone before walking in. A complete profile, photos of the storefront on the 1917 brick and quick replies to reviews separate a downtown listing from a highway chain, and a post about extended hours helps during events.
As geography, yes, but be careful with superlatives. Sources date the settlement of Nacogdoches to a 1716 mission or to 1779, so the claim is a local slogan, not a fact you can prove for your own firm. Say where you are, how long you have operated if you can document it, and let the downtown brick do the rest.
Use the street, the campus and a direction: for example, a short walk from 1808 Alumni Drive, on the university side of town. The museum is on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University, so the same sentence can serve students and heritage visitors, with parking and hours written plainly.
Being specific. Create a page for each service or specialist, add the ways to book, show photos of the entrance and parking, and answer every review. Pages near Nacogdoches Medical Center can state the distance, though they should not imply a referral relationship with the hospital.
They create short windows. The Texas Blueberry Festival is on the second Saturday in June, so a post with extended hours a week ahead helps. Campus events are less predictable, so watch the university calendar and update hours when students are in town.
Both, on different pages. With a median age of 24.4, students shape the numbers, but long-time residents hold the loyalty and the reviews. A page for move-in services can speak to students, while a separate one for repairs or home care speaks to people who own.
